We bought a house. Yes we did. It needs some work, but it is basically move-in ready. We’re just not ready.

No, it's not this shack, but this little hut is on our property. We plan to tear it down, since it's seen better days and is an eyesore now.

Christopher in front of a child's playhouse that has fallen to ruin. The wood is rotting, the shingles are nearly all missing and it is falling apart. We have a story about this place, but that's for another day.

When we first saw this, we wondered what it was used for originally. Christopher thought perhaps a playhouse, but this idea made him sad. To imagine children playing in this... Even if it was in great shape, it is dark and gloomy inside with a dirt floor and somewhat isolated from the house. It didn't seem like this could ever have been a refuge for a child.

There's old wooden beams used for mailboxes piled up behind this tiny structure. There's junk inside (discarded trash cans, cables, and other trash). Christopher and Erin began to affectionately refer to this as the "Murder Hut." For the life of us, we couldn't figure out its purpose. Christopher wanted to tear it down immediately, but then thought there were too many projects that needed to be done prior to moving in.

So its destruction will have to wait. The Murder Hut has received a reprieve.

This will come down though. Christopher has to admit he was somewhat reluctant to do so. What if it had been the home of a swamp witch that then cursed him for life? What then? Did you even think about that?

Sorry about the sizes of the images in this post. Christopher still needs to figure out thumbnails, a light box for posts, and float left or right for images. He's working on it.

p.s. we did eventually find out the history of this playhouse, but that's a story for another time.

A sad hut with rotting walls, decaying asphalt shingles, and several holes in the structure. There is trash inside and old wood piled up behind.
